Fit someone up

Friday, April 12, 2019. Daily Brit Wit.

Fit someone up:

Phrasal verb, British informal

Incriminate someone buy falsifying evidence against them.

“My hands are ice
and I am my own muse
full of incriminating ideas
and noxious perfumes
of shuddering
breaths of life
smoking rings from red stained lips

beauty is everywhere
yet chaos reigns supreme
insomnia fidgets
twisting creativity
and fitting me up
against my own self
where two wrongs make it right
and I keep breathing in
cold air.

I breathe in life
and exhale ashen poetry
for an oxygen deprived brain
spitting out garbled phrases.”
