Yonder

Monday, October 15, 2018. Daily Brit Wit.

Yonder:

Adverb, archaic or dialect

At some distance in the direction indicated; over there.

Determiner, archaic or dialect

That or those (used to refer to something situated at a distance).

“My heart aches in turmoil
rhythmic squeezing
like freshly made orange juice
keeping time
each temperamental sigh

left unattended and broken
for indeterminate
timelines
casually beating…
slowly, steadily
yet keeping movement
all the same.

Perhaps you shall
discover it yonder
in the place of mystic finds
somewhere warm and safe
quadruple-locked
out of necessity…

most likely it’ll be forgotten
and I will have ceased all functionality.”
