Tart

Thursday, October 11, 2018. Daily Brit Wit.

Tart:

Noun, informal. chiefly British, derogatory

A woman who dresses or behaves in a way that is considered tasteless and sexually provocative.

“Rain fell like an internal metronome
the day we buried her
dressed like a tart
in a short, ratty red dress
name unknown
and cause of death
that little wound between
her unseeing eyes
opened in surprise
until someone had the good
decency to close ’em.
There’s a bruise
beneath her collarbone,
size of fist’s edge.
We gathered together
keeping silent
as we basked in the awkwardness
of life left behind,
even for someone
we never even knew.

She didn’t deserve her fate.”

    1. I was just talking to one of my very close friends the other day about what my mind/imagination is like. It’s actually a lot harder to describe than I thought it was in a quick and easy definition for you. I’ll sum it up as complex. Thanks for the admiration 😍🦋 sending waves of the warm fuzzies your way!! xxx
