Harmonise

Saturday, July 7, 2018. Daily Brit Wit.

Harmonise:

Verb, with object

Alternative spelling of harmonize.

“His notes float from inside his chest
a rolling adagio
like strolling the Italian countryside
in the peak of Spring–
Bach’s symphonies
echoing
calling us forth
to play until we harmonise:
ocean waves swell
with the increased tempo
of my heart
singing
crying out for him
like our blood craves caffeine
synapses firing
releasing tension from longing
with a careful, angst filled vibrato
wailing for it
two converging lovers
embracing at last
as our notes entwine
in black flurries above us.”
