“You watch the elderly couple with preoccupation. Based on their interactions, the constant hand holding or smiles shared or exasperated fondness, the couple has been together for decades. It warms your heart, an example of why coupledom has its perks; but more than that, you swear you can almost tangibly see their love floating between them. And they’re currently bickering over who is the most peckish. Only snippets of their conversation float toward your table, but you’re affirmative that they are individually convinced the other is more peckish than their counterpart. Because you’re nowhere near as hungry (though entertained) as they are three tables over.”
