Kerb

Noun

BRITISH term for curb.

“His breath leaves him in a frustrated rush and he doesn’t bother hiding the growl. His torso leans over the kerb, eyes intent on spotting and hailing a cab. Morning commutes are a beast; evening commutes on a football match night…well, there was a reason he wanted to leave work early. The tube would have been a nightmare due to his earlier arrival. He weighs the thought of walking several blocks to a less crowded area to hail a cab and as he shifts to turn, he spots a cab. He raises his left arm.”
